Best. Brownies. Ever. (Snickers Brownies)

I rarely think of what I make as perfect.  I'm usually hard on my creations, and my second bite is often chewed thoughtfully, as in "this could use more garlic" or "that could have been in the oven another 2 or 3 minutes".  These, however...

Holy crap.

These are perfection in chocolate.

The brownies are from the recipe on the back of the King Arthur Flour bag, and I added (more leftover Halloween candy!!) Snickers bars.  Make these.  Right now.  The world will thank you.

The Best Brownies Ever

1 cup unsalted butter
2-1/4 cups sugar
1-1/4 cups cocoa
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
4 eggs
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups chopped Snickers bars

Grease and flour a 9x13 inch glass pan.  Preheat the oven to 350.  In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.  Stir in the sugar and heat until hot but not bubbling.  (This apparently dissolves the sugar more uniformly and gives the brownies that crust on the top.)  Transfer to the bowl of your stand mixer.  Stir in the cocoa, salt, baking powder and vanilla.  Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth.  Stir in the flour until incorporated.  Remove from the mixer and fold in the Snickers pieces by hand.  Bake for 18 minutes, until set and a knife in the center comes out clean.  Cool on a wire rack, loosening the edges with a knife.  Cool completely before cutting.  Share...or don't.  ;o)

  1. They look absolutely perfect! I have not tried using Snicker bars on brownies. Every bite of these must be loads of fudgy chocolaty flavour...yum.

Btw, to answer your question: "Tasty cheese" is just basic cheddar cheese. In Australia, we just name these basic cheese "Tasty cheese". I would say that they are basic cheese, not extra "tasty" :D

  2. I love the idea of "tasty cheese"! :o)

  3. Diana, I've an award for you. Thanks for sharing your cooking experience with me :D

  4. The crust on it says that it should be a good one.

Thanks for reading! Now it's your turn to share...
